The Structural Sandwich Composite Handbook (MIL-23)
The
Sandwich Composite Handbook has been a standard reference for designing,
analyzing, and building high-performance sandwich structures. As
a military handbook, the project was officially cancelled in 1988.
The handbook has always been difficult to obtain, and now it is
nearly impossible to get a copy. Although cancelled, this 400 page
book still contains valuable practical information that is still
needed by the structures community. MIL-HDBK-17 has decided to make
update and republish the information. This effort will take some
time (approximately 2 years). In the meantime, MSC has scanned the
best available copies of the original document, and is making the
whole document available for purchase.
Most of the
chapters were scanned from a high quality original from the government
printing office (30 Dec. 1968). Chapters that were affected by later
change notices were taken from an updated copy up through Change
Notice 3 (June 1974). Unfortunately, the print quality of the updated
chapters is markedly lower, reflecting changes in government document
storage and printing. All scans were performed at 600 dpi.
